- Becoming a Responsible Driver

Collision-Free Driving -- Students will:
- Learn specific techniques that will assist in collision avoidance
- Learn appropriate strategies to handle emergency situations
- Learn how to react to other drivers on the road

Survival Skills -- Students will:
- Learn skills specifically related to night driving
- Learn strategies for driving in adverse weather conditions
- Learn the techniques of skid control
- Learn how to anticipate and react to the actions of other drivers

Students will:
- Learn appropriate driver attitude
- Learn to communicate effectively with other drivers
- Learn the aspects of preventative maintenance
- Learn the affects of alcohol and drugs on driving

Essential Driving Skills -- Students will:
- Learn and demonstrate, through extensive instruction, the skills necessary to be a safe and competent city driver
- Learn and demonstrate the skills required for parallel, perpendicular and angle parking
- Learn and demonstrate the skills associated with driving on county roads and high speed driving on highways and freeways, including on and off ramps and passing safely

Reinforce, Review and Evaluation -- Students will:
- View several videos which reinforce and support the content of the course
- Write tests on all skills and concepts learned throughout the course

To become a safe and competent driver, frequent practice in addition to scheduled driving lessons is essential.
